Purple Moon (FM9)

Purple Moon
Full Moon 9
Cade stares at this new Kat. The Queen said luna, is that the name of her? If it is it sounds like there is history between them, but how can that be if that really is Kat?
The girl's eyes open, revealing them to be just as purple as Kat's eyes, but now they held ancient knowledge in their depths. She descends until her feet are just barely off the floor.
She looks directly at the Queen. "Thorn" her voice fills the cavern, soft and beautiful but filled with power. "It seems you have grown stronger, but I wonder if you accomplished all that you wanted to."
The queen approaches the other alteration, "Of course. I have mastered the power of blood, and as we speak, my revenge is being taken. Not to mention all of our brethren call me the queen now not you."
Luna looks at her rival almost pityingly, "I knew you were short-sighted, but I had hoped you would grow out of it with time, it appears I was wrong."
Thorn snarls at her, but Luna ignores it turning her attention to Cade noting his injuries and how tired he is. "Let me finish up here, and then we can go help your comrades."
"I don't think you realize the position you are in, Luna," Thorn says, bringing Luna's attention back to her. "You have no one to back you up, and the humans won't help you; they don't help anyone like us."
"Thorn...who said I would need help."
Kat's sword rose from the ground and attack Thorn. Startled, Thorn barely blocks the attack. She recovers quickly and sends an attack of her own. But Luna doesn't move as the blood, sharpened to deadly points, head straight for her. They hit the moonlight and splatter onto the rock floor. Thorn clenches her jaw, but she doesn't have a lot of time to think because Luna is attacking again.
This time the swords don't stop with one attack. Luna doesn't move, but the swords fly with the skill they gained from all the fights with Kat. Thorn is constantly on the defensive, and eventually, the swords become faster than she can defend, and she is forced to retreat until her back touches one of the walls. Then the swords stop.
Thorn is out of breath, and her blood armor is crumbling. Luna hasn't moved, and her face is impassive. The two Alteration's stare at each other then Thorn starts laughing.
"Even if I lose here, I still win. There's no way you can move fast enough to get to the real battle in time."
The moon goes behind a cloud, and Luna's eyes became a dark stormy purple. "Thorn, there is no need for you to define what I can and can not do. Your power comes from you're blood and is bound by your own limitations. My power comes from the moon and far exceeds yours. You claim to be queen and yet of the Originals you are the youngest and least developed." The ground shook, and the hole letting in the moonlight widened as the ceiling crumbled. "If you had not been so short-sighted you would have been able to see that we are not here to be destroyers we are here to be protectors. But you can not see anything beyond your own desires and are willing to bring down others with you as long as you can reach your goal."
Luna moves her hand, and the swords stab Thorn, pinning her to the wall. Thorn coughs out blood and just looks as Luna with a pained smirk on her face. "You may kill me, but there will be others like me, Luna, ones that don't agree with your...ideals. They will come from those like us, but they will also be in the humans you love."
The storm in Luna's eyes vanishes, and she closes her eyes. "Sleep, it is time that you join those that came before us in the stars. Hopefully, you will begin to understand as you watch the world from up there." When Luna opens her eyes, Thorn is already dead.

Purple Moon (FM8)

Purple Moon
Full Moon 8
The water from the other tanks swirled around Luna. The others looked at Luna with aw as they stepped out of their broken tanks. The watchers looked on with fear in their eyes. Luna turned her attention to the exit and shot water at the ceiling. The concrete exploded outward, and she could hear the startled cries of people from above. The others became excited at shoved themselves through the exit. Luna ignored them at looked at the watchers.
Your time of control is done. I will not kill you but don't think that this is mercy. Your time of punishment will come, and when it does, you will have wished that I had killed you.
They just stared at her, but she didn't care. She moved up through the exit to a blank room. There were signs that someone had been here, but they were gone. Luna kept moving until she reached the outside world. She looked up at the moon and breathed in the air. People in the town around her were screaming and running. Some of the ones that she had released were the cause of the screaming the rest of them had disappeared into the night.
But there were still others that needed freedom. She turned her back on the town and headed south, to Thorn's den.
The town Thorn was in was quiet compared to the one she had just come from. As she approached the building Thorn was in, she could feel Thorn gathering her power. Luna noted that Thorn had gotten stronger while they were apart before she gathered her power too. This time no one would be able to stop the power battle.
The air vibrated, and Luna started to glow. The screams started in Thorn's building, and several explosions rang through the night as Thorn came closer. Then the wall just beneath Luna blasted outward and Thorn appeared.
"I wondered when you would show up," Thorn commented.
Luna looked her over. Thorn's physical state was fine, but Luna could tell by the way her red eyes glimmered that her mental state was in tatters.
"I did tell you that we would meet again," Luna responded.
Thorn laughed, "And this time no one will come to help you."
Luna sighed, "If that is what you wish."
Thorn smiled, "Then let us begin."
Luna closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, Thorn was already coming after her.
The power battle didn't last very long, but when it ended, the town was almost completely gone, and Thorn was breathing hard while Luna was not.
"You did well for today." Luna commented, "But not as well as you can do. I am leaving for a period of time, sleeping you could say. It will be up to you if you have grown stronger when I wake. It will take me a long time to fully wake, four stages to be exact: No Moon, Crescent Moon, Half Moon, and Full Moon."
"And why should I care about these stages?" Thorn growled.
"In the No Moon, Blood has its greatest chance. Then come Crescent Moon, to begin the cycle. The Half Moon is next, and what is lost starts to return. Last of all is Full Moon to show the scales have changed."
The moon came out from behind a cloud, and the moonlight gathered on to Luna's skin. There was a flash of purple light, and then she was gone. Leaving Thorn shocked and angry.
Years later, a woman appears coming out of an abandoned town. Her hair is short and black. In her hands, she carries twin swords supposedly made from moon rock. The road she walks will lead her to the City, to an organization of hunters. Her eyes are a fierce purple only seen in Alterations, but in their depths, an ancient power sleeps. The only proof that it is there is the purple crescent moon on her shoulder blade.

Purple Moon (FM7)

As promised here is the next segment, a little late but I did finish it. Enjoy.

Purple Moon
Full Moon 7
Luna looked over at the other tanks. The latest replacement seemed to have settled in. Unlike many of the others she had adapted, her silver hair and red eyes were proof of that. Once she adapted, she had come to call herself Thorn. She had also developed a dislike for Luna, which Luna was okay with since the feeling was mutual.
Thorn's tanka was not the one next to her, so the ones that lived in the tanks between them were often caught in the middle of their power battles. Their battles never went anywhere since the watchers stopped them before they could prove who was stronger. The others tended to side more with Luna then Thorn since Luna was less violent.
Thorn hated the watchers with a passion, and anytime one came near her, she tried to lash out at them. She never succeeded in anything but making them jump, so they learned to avoid her tank and sent the new watchers to do the measurements on her tank. Luna hated the watchers too, but she knew now wasn't the time to fight them.
Luna heard something new and turned to look at a group of watchers and new people. They were discussing something and gesturing at the tanks. One of the watchers pointed specifically at Thorn's tank. Luna looked at Thorn and saw her narrowing her angry eyes at the group. Luna looked back and saw the new people nod in understanding before leaving.
Luna started to go back into her dreamlike state when she felt Thorn's eyes turn on her. Slowly she looked at Thorn. Thorn did this every time she was tired of picking on the others. One day Luna would show Thorn just how wrong she was to try and pick a fight with her, but it could wait until after the watchers had been dealt with.
The new people came back and started to haul away empty tanks. Once they were done with that, they talked to the watchers again. The conversation was short, and once they had been instructed, the new people started messing with Thorn's tank.
Intrigued, Luna paid more attention as the new people bundled up the tanks and started moving it. Thorn was to busy glaring at the people moving her to think about what was happening, but Luna assumed that she was going to a different place.
Thorn finally realized that she could do anything and glared at Luna as if she was the cause of her movement.
Luna just looked at her passively and thought, Don't worry, we will meet again. It may be a while, but it will happen. Once she had said, her piece, Luna turned her back to Thorn and entered the dreamlike state.

Purple Moon (FM6)

I didn't put this last time since the post was so long but it's been a year since I started this blog and I thank you readers. I had a lot of things to do to day so sorry I'm posting this so late. And since I am currently on my phone I will change any mistakes or problems when I can get to my computer.
Purple Moon
Full Moon 6
The feeling of floating is the first thing she is aware of. Next comes something brushing against her skin. She opens her eyes and sees people staring at her from outside the water. Her eyes roam over the crowd until she spots the man who seems to be in charge.
"Very good everyone subject 051 is stable, now let's get back to work," The man who looked in charge said.
Everyone turned away from her, and she looked around. Her container was filled with water, and a single-window next to her container let in natural light. Her container was just big enough so she wouldn't be cramped but small enough where she couldn't swim around. Long purple hair surrounded her, and her skin was fair and soft.
Who am I? She wondered Is 051 my name?
She looked at the room outside the container and saw people in white roaming around sticking their instruments in other tanks that contained others like her. She looked for a while at the others like her before going into a half-sleeping state.
Days passed like that. Occasionally one of the ones in the tanks would die, and a new one replace them, but they were different from the ones that came before them. Eventually, she was the only one left of the old ones, and the day came where she could feel herself dying. The people in white, which she had come to call watchers, seemed to be waiting for her die and would glance at her tank every once in a while.
She looked out the window at the big full moon. Darkness ate at the edges of her vision, and her heartbeat started to slow. Just as she was accepting that she would end up like the others, a voice filled her head.
Do you want to live, young one?
She turned away from the moonlight entering her tank and responded, What would be the point, when I don't even know my own name?
I could give you a name, and with it, you could be reborn.
    Reborn?
Yes, if you accept my gift.
She thought about it then said. Alright as long as I get a name.
The moonlight fell on her back, and her back started to glow purple. The watchers turned towards her, and she closed her eyes. She feels the moonlight fill her and as if someone flipped a switch, she understood.
Luna opened her eyes, and the light faded to just a crescent shape on her shoulder blade. The watchers looked at her awed, but they were unimportant. For the moment, all Luna had to do was wait, until the time was right. Until then, she would just bide her time.

Purple Moon (FM5)

Purple Moon
Full Moon 5
Angelica watched warily as two men got out of the van. For a moment, they talked about something before walking over to her. As they approached her, she pulled out her phone, ready to dial the police.
"Sorry to bother you." one man said, "but would you happen to be Angelica?"
"Why do you want to know?" She asked.
The man looked at his companion, who nodded. The companion grabbed her arm, pulled her towards him, and spun her around. By the time she realized what was going on, her arms were pinned behind her back, and a cloth was put in her mouth.
As she was being carried towards the van, she kicked and screamed, trying to squirm her way out of the man's arms. The man never let go, and she only ended up dropping her phone and messing up her clothes.
They shoved her into the back of the van and closed the doors. As the van started up and drove off, Angelica realized that the men acted as if they had done this before and her chances of getting away were very, very slim.
After a while, the van stopped at its destination. The men pulled Angelica out of the back and lead her towards a huge building covered with glass. They entered through a backdoor and Angelica saw lots of people moving around. Some were moving faster than others, but all of them ignored Angelica and the two men.
The men kept a strong grip on Angelica and took her to the second floor. There were more people on this floor wearing lab coats, they seemed more relaxed than those on the first floor, but they still ignored Angelica. Then men brought her to a room with a researcher and an elevator.
One of the men holding her coughed and the researcher looked up.
"Ah welcome back seems like you brought something good with you."
The researcher stood up and looked her over. Then he walked over to the elevator and swiped his card. The doors opened, and the men dragged Angelica into it. The researcher followed after them and pushed the only button in the elevator. The doors closed and as they descended Angelica couldn't help but think of what awaited her.
The doors opened, and Angelica was pulled into a room filled with researchers and tanks. The tanks were what caught Angelica's attention. They were filled with water, and in each of them, a person was floating. But they didn't look like normal humans some only had abnormal color hair. Others were deformed with animal aspects that meshed horribly with the human parts.
Angelica could only stare shocked and scared. Her mind came up with all the horrible things that they could and probably would do to her.
An alarm went off, and researchers looked at a tank containing a female who had fins coming out of her side as well as spikes running down her spine on to a tail. She was thrashing around clawing as her throat with her abnormally small hands.
The researcher who came with them sighed, "Another failure."
The woman's slitted eyes in the tank went huge, and she reached for the glass. But just as fingers brushed against it, she sank to the bottom of the tank, dead.
The researchers started the process of cleaning the tank and the one that came with them, turned to another man who had brought a syringe full of liquid. "This new subject will be the last of these experiments, the higher-ups want us to start on the next concept."
The researcher with the syringe nodded before injecting the liquid into Angelica.

Purple Moon (FM4)

Purple Moon
Full Moon 4
Kat feels nothing, and she can't open her eyes. To her, its as if she is suspended in darkness.
    "Am I dead?" She wonders.
"No," A soft familiar voice replies.
    "Who are you?"
    "Someone who knows you well."
    "Do I know you?"
"You will discover that for yourself. Are you ready?"
    "For what?"
    "For the end of sleep."
    "...I didn't know I was asleep."
"No one knows they are sleeping until they awake."
    "Then, I guess I am."
There was a flash of light, and when Kat opened her eyes, she was in a girlish bedroom. She was sitting on a bed, and warm light streamed in from the window next to her.
"Angelica," A voice called from outside the closed door.
"Just go away." Angelica sniffled and hugged her pillow closer.
There was a sigh, "Alright, I'm going to the store and Phil should be home soon. But don't forget you can call."
Angelica didn't say anything, and her mother moved away from the door. She waited until she heard the car start up and leave before getting off of the bed. She grabbed her phone off of the nightstand and pulled on the huge sweatshirt that was hanging from her bedpost.
She was almost drowning in the sweatshirt, but it reminded her of when her dad would give her hugs when she was little. She pulled the sleeves up so she could use her hands and opened the door. As she descended the stairs to the first floor, she tapped on her phone and called her best friend.
"I was wondering when you were going to call," The female voice on the other end answered.
Angelica sighed, "I don't need your sarcasm, Saph."
"Sorry. So today was a bad one."
Angelica walked into the kitchen and rummaged through the cupboards looking for something sweet, "You have no idea. She never understands."
    "I'm assuming she's gone."
"Yep, she went to the store."
"Cool, do you want me to come get you then."
"Please, before Phil comes with his sickly sweet attitude."
Laughter came from the phone, "Alright, let me grab my keys."
Angelica hung up and sighed. There weren't any sweets to be found, which meant she would have to ask Saph to make a detour. Angelica left the kitchen, walked outside, and sat on her front porch to wait for her friend. Just as the cool fall air was beginning to seep into her clothing, a van stopped right in front of her house.

Purple Moon (FM3)

I've been waiting to write this scene since I started Purple Moon. I'm excited now that it's out of my head and on paper and I wish I could see you guys' reactions to it. I tried to make it longer than what I've been doing recently. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Purple Moon
Full Moon 3
Kat stares at the queen, and an odd calm settles over her. She raises her swords, planning her next attack. For a moment there was no movement then Kat rushes towards the queen. The moment before Kat's attack lands the queen creates a blood sword and blocks.
"You have a very curious eye color," The queen says.
    "What about it?" Kat asks.
"I wonder if your organization kept a tight hold on you because of it."
They push away from each other, breaking the stalemate.
"Why do you care?" Kat raised her sword again.
"No reason but curiosity begs me to ask where they found you. You don't seem like the rest of them."
"I found them." Kat responded, "After one of you burned down my village."
Is that true? A voice whispered in Kat's mind. Kat winced as the question started the headache up again. Are you telling the truth? Kat tries to focus on the queen, but something flashes in the back of her mind making the pain worse.
Kat falls to her knees, clutching her head and her swords clatter on to the stone floor. Seeing an opening, the queen goes to strike. For Kat, time seems to slow, and she wonders if this would be the end. She hears Cade call her name and she can see the insanity and joy in the queens face.
Above Kat is the hole in the ceiling that lights the cavern. The clouds covering the sky part, revealing a full moon. The moonlight shines down into the cavern.
The time has come. A voice calls and Kat looks up into the night sky. Her purple eyes reflect the moonlight.
There is no need to pretend anymore. Remember and become what you were meant to be.
Kat feels a buzz run through her as if the words jolted her cells and her purple eyes cloud over.
Cade prepares his crossbow to fire, but thanks to his wounded arm he's a lot slower than usual. The queen races towards Kat and Cade grinds his teeth. He raises his crossbow just as the queen is going to strike down Kat. He knows he's not going to make it, but Cade fires anyway.
Just as the Queen's blood blade is about to touch Kat's skin. A purple explosion of light launches the queen away from Kat, and Cade covers his eyes as wind whips through the cavern carrying little pieces of rock that cut his skin.
When Cade lowers his arm, he sees Kat in a patch of purple moonlight. Her eyes are closed, and she is floating. Her clothes have changed into a lightweight dress and Cade can see her the purple moon on her shoulder blade glowing. But the biggest change is her hair. It originally went to her jaw, but now it brushed against her ankles, and instead of a midnight black, it was as purple as her eyes.
Cade stares at this new Kat, astonished at her transformation. And from the other end of the cave, he hears the queen say bitterness and disgust.
    "Luna."

Purple Moon (FM2)

And we are back to Purple Moon. I have work to do so this is all I can give you today but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
Rose B.
Purple Moon
Full Moon 2
Kat sits against the wall of the cavern and tries to cure her pounding head, but it seems to only get worse. Cade is hidden in some other corner, engaging the blood alteration. Kat can hear the echos of their battle bounce of the walls, and she knows that Cade can't win this without her, but she can't muster up the strength to move.
Cade suddenly squats next to Kat startling her. He has blood running down on his arm, and it is in his hair and face. He is only holding one crossbow, and he is low on arrows. Kat gets the feeling that she missed some of the fight, but doesn't remember blacking out.
"How are you feeling?" He asks quietly.
Her headache is still there, but it's more of an echo than a throb. "Better." She replies, "I can help you now."
    "Are you sure?"
Kat ignores his question and asks, "Where is she?"
Cade shrugs, "One moment she suddenly couldn't move, so I came to check on you."
Kat stands up with Cade following to make sure she doesn't fall again. Kat sees the Queen looking around the cavern. Kat throws Cade a glance and pulls out her swords. Ignoring her head, she focuses solely on the alteration.
Sensing her presence, the Queen turns and faces Kat. For a moment, the Queen sees another girl settle over Kat's features. Then she blinks, and the apparition is gone.
"Your expression reminds me of someone I use to know," The queen says.
Kat doesn't say anything but raises her swords. The queen smiles and shoots spikes of her blood at Kat. Kat blocks but the blood turns back to liquid and drops to the floor. As soon as the droplets hit the ground, they harden back into spikes and aim for under Kat's defense.
Kat jumps backward landing farther from the Queen. Kat closes her eyes and breathes in deeply as she exhales she opens her eyes, and for a moment, the Queen can see a flicker of old knowledge in their purple depths.

Halloween Special - Abyss

Last day of the Halloween special, since the last one was short this one is longer. Its the start of the rewrite of a story I did before, really its just the parts of the previous story I want to keep. If you want to read more say so in the comments and I'll do so once Purple Moon is done.
Rose B.
Abyss

There once was a village that was well established and untroubled by the issues of its country when a girl was born. The girl was like many other kids in the village, she ran around playing games and learning from others. But unlike other kids she had the potential to become a powerful light user and it had been decided that she would become the next village protector.
When she was old enough to speak clearly and walk properly her village burned down and the girl was the sole survivor of it all. Government scientists passing through the area found her covered in soot and minor burns, sitting in the charred remains of her home. They took her to the secret lab that they worked at and she became a part of their experiments in magic.
They were not planning to pick up more kids when they found her so, despite her potential in light magic; they suck her in the dark class which was always in need of more orphans. The dark class experiments were harsh and kids died easily. New kids were brought in often and old ones disappeared just as frequently. No one made friends so the kids retreated into themselves. The girl was no exception. By her third month there the girl had forgotten her own name.
A couple months after the girl could no longer remember her own name, the scientists found rare sample of Darkness. It ate all light and killed any light class kid immediately. When they decided to try it on a Dark Class kid they picked the girl. To the girl it was like any other experiment: done in a white room on a table with straps in case they were needed with equipment and scientists. It wasn’t until they injected the girl with a piece of the sample, that things started to go wrong.
Pain tore through her system in pulses until it synced with her heartbeat. Her vision blurred and the girl screamed. The sound of cracking filled her ears, which was the sound of her identity breaking. Her vitals stopped and her vision went black. That is when the girl came to visit me. I found her interesting since she survived an injection of my power.
Lost in the darkness she didn't cry or call out for help. So I offered her the power that she had already been tainted with. She had been broken and didn't fully understand but she accepted anyway. She could never go back to who she was before but I helped her build an identity and once she could fully comprehend what I was offering, I told her the rule that all those under my care live by: consume or be consumed.
Even knowing that she would be consumed one day she still accepted my offering. I told her the way back and she left. She is older now and remains unconsumed. But when she comes again I so believe it will be the last time.
