Calypso's Rage ~ 14

Calypso's Rage
Fourteen
Estella was waiting for me after I came out of the house. I sighed and looked down at the town below us.
"What did you think of them?" I asked
"They are suspicious but it didn't look like any of them were lying."
I nodded and we didn't say anything thing else. But when we split up to go our separate ways Estella put a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her and saw her eyes were filled with pity. If it was anyone else but Estella I would have shaken them off and said something mean.
"If you start to wonder where I've gone kill Garrison for me." I said
She smiled and nodded before leaving. I sighed knowing that my words were only half way joking. I turned as walked back to my ship not surprised to see Jack waiting for me.
"So what did you find out about the new ship."
"They were unexpected guests for the Lady. They're not here to take away any pirates."
    "But..." He prompted
I took a deep breath and straightened my back, "Remove your kindness, we have someone to visit."
He chuckled then whistled. The crew appeared and Jack looked at me.
"Alright lads, I hope you've said goodbye to your bonnie lass because there isn't time now."
They cheered and started scrambling to there positions.
I turned to Jack and murmured, "Pull out all the stops. I will not show him any weakness."
He nodded and started giving orders. As were pulled out of the of dock I saw Estella sitting in her crows nest.
The trip wasn't long and much sooner than I would have liked we could see Garrison's island in the distance. My lip curled up in disgust thinking about what would await me there. Garrison always had some kind of surprise. Some surprises were worse than others but all were suppose to get a reaction out of me.
Jack yelled at the crew before appearing at my side with a hard look on his face and weapons all over him. Another crew member was at his side, Rex. Rex was very intimidating and extremely loyal to me ever since I had saved him from the Navy. Jack handed my my swords and pistols which I put in there correct places. I put myself into the role of a dangerous Caspian and was ready to face Garrison by the time we docked at his back door.
Garrison was waiting for us dressed to impress with a smile painted on his smug face. He wasn't a handsome man not matter what he wore but the he looked the worst in formal wear. "Caspian, so glad you could come."

Calypso's Rage ~ 13

Calypso's Rage
Thirteen
Alexander turned to Annice "We are here to investigate the disappearances of the ships. Unlike other people we don't believe that pirates are the cause."
"Are you an official of some sort?" I asked
They looked at each other then Alexander said, "Our investigation is suppose to be secret."
Annice sighed "Alright but what is it you want from me?"
"We want to know if you have seen or heard anything or know of anyone that has."
I shook my head "No. There haven't been any talk among the pirates but I have been on shore for several days."
Annice nodded "Caspian is right there haven't been any talk that I have heard. If pirates vanish the other pirates just assume that they have been caught and killed."
I nodded and started thinking "Garrison sent me a message saying he wanted to talk any news from him."
Annice thought about it "No, but then again anything that he knows that may be important is said to you."
    I sighed
    "Who is Garrison." Alexander interupted
I snorted "A creep of a man who is a terrible pirate. Never sure how he became a Captain."
Annice frowned, "Indeed. He tends to think of people as his play things. His new...target is Caspian."
    Robert raised an eyebrow "Target?"
I scowled, "Like I said before the man is a creep. I swear he wants me as some sort of prize whether I'm male or female."
Annice sighed "Unlike other captains Garrison has been known to take people along with cargo. Luckily he doesn't often pillage but he's a high society man so he plagues society instead. Garrison is just the name he goes by as a pirate his given name is something else."
"So we shouldn't go see him." Robert said
Annice nodded "He would make you do something for any information he has even if it of no use. The only one he has given information freely to is Caspian..."
Annice trailed off and they all looked at me.
I scowled again and growled, "Fine I'll go see him, but you owe me and not just Annice. You three also owe me."
Annice smiled "We should pause this conversation then and pick it back up once you come back."
"Are we free to stay in port until then." Alexander asked
Annice nodded "Yes now I think we are done here for the time being."
They left and before I left I glared at Annice "You really are going to owe me, I mean it."

Calypso's Rage ~ 12

Calypso's Rage
Twelve
I took that as a cue and flung myself through the open window. Annice smiled as if this was perfectly normal. Her guests stared at me slightly confused but they recovered quickly.
"I've seen plenty of young pirates but never a captain." One of the men looked me over
I smiled arrogantly "Happy I could correct your knowledge."
Before they could reply I turned to Annice "You have more strange guests, Lady."
"Apparently." She was still suspicious of the men "They have yet to tell me their names."
"Oh dear how rude of us." The young one said "I am Alexander, the stern looking man to my right is Robert and the silent one is Jonathan."
Robert turned to me, "And who would you be."
I raised my eyebrow, "Someone not stupid enough to give you my name."
Red ran through Robert's face and Alexander laughed, "Well it's true we have given you no reason to trust us."
I looked Alexander in the eye "I have never seen any of you before and while the world is a big place I would have at least heard of you. Especially since you are the leader."
Robert looked shocked but Alexander remained impassive, "Anything else."
I smiled, "None of you look like you have been on the seas for extended periods of time but you do not have the air of some of someone in the government."
"You are quick." Jonathan finally said
I snorted "Well I would have to be if I wanted to stay a captain for a long time."
Robert looked me over again "No wonder you are a captain at your age."
Alexander's gaze didn't move from me, "So you will flaunt your skills but not tell us your name. Do you wish for us to beg?"
I smiled again "No. I was testing to see if it was worth my time."
Robert looked irritated while Annice sighed, "This is Captain Caspian."
That caught their attention. Jonathan and Robert were surprised but Alexander was still looking on calmly.
"What is on your mind?" I asked
"Your still hiding something." Alexander stated
I laughed "But I'm not the only one. You get my name I'm not going to say anything else about myself. So you may as well not ask."
Alexander nodded "Very well. Than we should get on with what we came here for but if I can guess the secret you have to tell me if I'm right."
I smiled "Bargaining with me isn't a smart move. But if you wish to do so I won't stop you."
He never stated which secret he was guessing and I would never know if it was the one he originally wanted. He could guess forever but I never had to answer.

Calypso's Rage ~ 11

Calypso's Rage
Eleven
We walked up the road that led to the Lady's house but didn't approach the house. Instead we went around the side looking for a room we could watch. Estella was quieter that I was so we agreed that I would check the windows close to the floor and she would check the ones higher up. We had cleared one third of the house when Estella called me over.
She was half way up a tree and motioned for me to be quiet before pointing at a window where I could see some shadows moving. I nodded and moved up into the tree next to her.
    "Now what?" I breathed
She pointed above us and whispered, "There is a branch that is split where we can watch but we aren't likely to hear anything."
I nodded and looked back at the window "No ledge, but what about the roof."
She shook her head "They will hear and maybe see us."
"Lets climb higher then. They would be able to see us if we were in that branch split. So lets see if we can find our own branches."
She nodded and climbed up the tree like a monkey. I wasn't as fast as she was but I found a branch that was partly covered by foliage but not enough that would block my sight. As long as I didn't move much they would notice me unless they were searching for a watcher.
I reached the branch and slowly made myself comfortable so I wouldn't have the sudden urge to move. Once I was settled in I turned my attention to the room beyond the window. Lady Annice walked toward the window and opened it.
"...the window. I prefer fresh air in the mornings especially when I'm dealing with unexpected guests."
She moved away from the window and there were the guests. Three men just as Estella said but they weren't gruff and as sea worn as I was expecting. They seemed young for important people and I was sure I had never seen them before, on sea or on land. One of them seemed about my age while the other two were older not as old as Kane but maybe closer to Estella's age.
"I'm sorry we disturbed your sleep." The young man about my age said
Annice looked at him with narrowed eyes "Well there had better be a good reason. I have a busy enough life dealing with peaty things during the day. I don't need them to come in the night too."
One of the other men coughed, "We understand you're unwillingness to cooperate with us but we aren't here to cause problems."
Annice looked skeptical "Really? It's no secret that I allow pirates in my port with their Colors flying high. Pirates are much more honest that those in our society."
I smiled she really was a pirate at heart. The young one smiled, "We aren't looking to take any of the pirates here to the Navy. In fact it would be best if we could talk to them."
"I assume you would talk to them about the same thing you want to talk to me about." They nodded and Annice smiled, "Then you wouldn't mind if one joined our conversation."
