Calypso's Rage ~ 31

Calypso's Rage
Thirty-one
I stood up and looked at the captain, "So I take it that you don't want to take my offer."
"I know better than to take an offer from the likes of you."
I raised an eyebrow, "I'm not planning on leaving without something and you can't make me leave by force. So I'm assuming you have a better idea."
He pointed to the cabin boy, "Take him. You've already talked to him and I'm sure a half witted pirate like yourself could use someone like him even if he's useless."
I dropped all pretense of nice from my face. I saw a couple of my crew flinch slightly and I even heard one of them mutter, "He's in for it now."
"What makes you say I'm a half wit."
"No pirate worth his salt will allow their target to tell them what to take."
"You're right but I never said I was going to listen to you." I turned to Jack, "Sink it."
The sailors gasped and I turned back to see that Rex had grabbed the captain who was glaring at me. It looked like he had tried to lunge for me.
I stared at him coldly, "I warned you that you would regret you're choice and you're disregard for the life of a child is the thing I hate most."
"You can't do this!" He strained against Rex getting nowhere
"Oh but I can." I faced Jack, "Show them what it's like to cross me."
Jack barked out orders and the crew flew into motion. I walked up to the group of sailors taking the kid with me.
"Who can tell me about this kid."
One man stepped hesitantly forward, "He's from one of the smaller islands. His dad gave him to us so he could become a sailor."
I nodded, "I don't deal in human lives so you get to take him." A crew member came up to me carrying huge sacks, "I don't like you're captain but I have nothing against you guys. So here's how this will work. There are food and tools in these sacks. I can either sink the ship with the captain on it or put him on the dingy and you can keep the ship."
They looked at each other then nodded. "We'll keep the ship."
I smiled, "Good to hear. If there is anyone else you want to get rid of, with the exception of that boy, you can stick them on the dingy with the captain."
Jack was monitoring everything going on to our ship so the crew member that brought me the sacks and I helped Rex set the captain afloat at sea. The sailors elected to toss one other man I didn't ask questions and after making sure the sailors didn't go back for the captain we sailed away.

Calypso's Rage ~ 30

Calypso's Rage
Thirty
The Captain spun to look at me, "You did this!"
I smiled, "Oh dear, looks like you're quicker than expected."
Five crew members climbed aboard the ship causing the sailors to back up. Jack put a board down to connect our ships with the help of one crew member on the other ship. I walked across it and up to the other captain.
He looked at me with disgust the little cabin boy almost shaking with fear next to him. "You think you can scare me?"
I smiled, "That, Captain, is not the issue at the moment." More of my crew came to the other ship. "Now here's what's going to happen. I'm going to take what I like of whatever it is you're carrying then leave. That means I could take all or none but no more damage will be done to you or you're ship."
"Why would listen to the words of a pirate."
I laughed, "True we may not be the most truthful bunch but if you don't take the offer you'll regret it."
He looked away and I followed his gaze to a sailor they seemed to be having a silent argument. I looked at Jack.He gave a longer blink then normal, so everything was ready no matter what I chose to do. I moved my head towards the captain's cabin, I had a feeling this man had something he didn't want us to find. Jack nodded and turned away.
I turned back to that Captain to see that he had finished his conversation.
"Finished discussing with you're crew?" I asked
He didn't even acknowledge my question, "Get off my ship pirate."
I sighed and bend down to the cabin boy he looked back at me with wide eyes. "How old are you?"
    "Ten..." he muttered
I nodded "That's a good age. Say what do you think of this man."
I could almost feel my crew members shaking their heads. He looked up at the man unsure how to answer. "You can say it in my ear if you want. I won't even tell him what you said."
The boy struggled with this then walk up and cupped his hands around my ear and whispered, "He's mean and loves food almost as much as the treasures in his room. He doesn't like it when I come in while he's looking at them."
    "Really." He nodded, "Thanks."

Calypso's Rage ~ 29

 Calypso's Rage
Twenty-nine
The crew was tense as we glided silently as possible through the night. In the distance was a merchant ship.
"Luck seems to be on our side," I whispered to Jack
"It would have to be in order to find prey this quickly."
I moved towards the front of the ship and Jack motioned to the crew. They scurried into their positions making as little noise as they could. I looked up to the crows nest there was a flash as the moonlight caught the mirror. I waited for a moment, no second flash which meant the ship was alone.
    "Stop her." I said
Jack made a slashing movement at his knees and the crew jumped into action. Two jumped overboard carrying various objects. Chain shots were loaded into the cannons in case they gave us trouble. Weapons were hidden and the crew that would arouse the most suspicion about being pirates went below deck. Leaving those that could pass for sailors as well as Rex, Jack and myself.
Rex took the helm and we slowly glided towards the ship. Panic started building up on the other ship as the sailors scurried around.
"They've awoken the Captain." Jack said looking through a spyglass
    "Move in." I told Rex
He nodded and we sailed up next to the other ship. The sailors looked at us warily and the captain, a well fed man, looked tired and grumpy.
"Hello" I said with a cheery voice, "Is some wrong with your vessel? You've hardly moved since we've approached."
The chubby captain looked at my crew. His eyes lingered on Rex at the helm and Jack at my side. "Why should I tell someone who just approached?"
Jack glared at him slightly and I laughed, "You think we're pirates? If we were I don't think we'd be striking up conversation."
He glanced at the others before looking back to me, "True"
He was still suspicious. I put my hand to my chin and pretended to think, "Well not that I can blame you though. Any ship showing up out here in the night would be rather suspicious."
"And yet you seem relaxed." He pointed out
I laughed again, "That's cause it would be a dumb move for pirates to stop their ship in the water just to catch us. Not to mention we're not carrying anything pirates would want."
A small cabin boy came running up to the captain looking terrified "Captain the rudder has been sabotaged and we've been chained to the sea floor."
