Calypso's Rage
Twenty-one
I shrugged, "I would think not."
"Then what is it really?" Annice wondered
No one said anything and we sat in silence for a long moment. It was Kane that finally broke the tension.
"Well I have places I have to be." He said as he stood up.
Estella nodded and followed him out of the room. Once the door was shut I looked at Annice.
"Do you need my help with anything else, Lady."
She rolled her eyes, "Every time you say my title it sounds like a sneer."
I smiled cockily, "It's suppose to."
She shook her head, "Of course how could I forget. The great Caspian sneers at all titles but his own."
I did an overly grand bow but before I say anything a squeal rang from the house. We all looked at the door.
"I can't tell if she is happy or frightened." Alexander said
"Probably both." Annice muttered, "Caspian you brought the girl here your going to have to take some responsibility."
"Very well but I hope you not planning to have me take her aboard my ship."
She waved away my comment, "No. If she want's to join the pirate life I would put her on Estella's ship."
"Why can't she join your ship?" Alexander asked
I raised an eyebrow, "I'm surprised Mr. Alexander. I thought you would have guessed that your self. There is not a single girl among my crew and while I can promise they won't do anything, I can't vouch for how comfortable she would be. I gave her my quarters when we came here but I can't do that all the time."
He looked a little disappointed and slightly upset, "I knew that I just thought there would be a deeper reason."
"Be careful Mr. Alexander. If you look to deep into Caspian's mind you might not come out the same." Annice commented, "Don't forget he is still a captain of a pirate ship. He is just a ruthless as most pirates but a great deal more cunning."
The three of them looked at me. I smiled and wiggled my eyebrows.
